  • Washington State University, 1999 | B.S. Business, Minor: Risk Management & Insurance

“I graduated from WSU in 1999 (Go Cougs!) and love visiting/going back for games whenever I get the chance.”

  • “I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my entire life and Washington state most of my life.  I grew up in Redmond, WA (cusp of Microsoft growth) and moved to the Puyallup area a little over 20 years ago.

I immediately knew that this was the place to live and raise my family.  I am married with three kids–my oldest daughter, Lillian, is a freshman at WSU (again GO COUGS), my younger daughter, Lauren, is a junior at Emerald Ridge HS and taking running start classes at Pierce, and my son, Jason, is in 2nd grade at Fruitland Elementary.

My husband (Jeff) is an electrician who works at Fives Lund and is involved in some exciting projects. All of my kids have been involved in sports throughout the years and one of our favorite hobbies is watching their events.

When I’m not working or bouncing between sports and schools, I enjoy running (you can see me running around Puyallup most weekends), watching movies and spending quality time with my family and friends.“

  • Senior Manager, Nationwide Insurance | 2003 - Present

“I work for Nationwide Insurance as Senior Manager over a Large/Complex Loss team of adjusters that handle large loss commercial liability claims.  I have worked at Nationwide for 22 years and been in the insurance industry since I graduated college.  I work from home and love my job.”

  • Chair, Planning Commission, City of Puyallup | March 2021 - March 2025

PTA Member at Emerald Ridge High School, Fruitland Elementary

Coach and Volunteer for South Hill Little League

Treasurer, Emerald Ridge High School’s Softball Booster Club

Long-time Donor at local Blood Drives

What do you love most about Puyallup?

“I love our Downtown area - my husband and I regularly spend our date days/nights walking around and visiting the stores/restaurants in downtown.

During Covid, we made a point during Christmas to limit our shopping to local stores only.  It was a great way for us to get to know and support local busisness in our community.  We have continued this for a lot of our shopping since that time.  We also love the Farmers Market — I remember first going when Lillian was a baby and we have been going yearly ever since.

I love our parks and also the Parks and Rec system.  All of my children have participated in many of the activities put on by the Puyallup Parks & Recreation department and we regularly visit parks in our area. ”

Why run for City Council?

“We need to come together to address infrastructure and public safety issues, but need to be fiscally responsible while doing so.  We also need a council that represents our whole community and not big business or developers.

So I am running for the citizens who care about our community, the people who are concerned about the current direction of our City Council, and anyone who wants to make Puyallup the best city it can be.”
